My Favorite Holiday World Memory: Happy Halloween Weekends with My Sister

When I think about some of my favorite memories at Holiday World, one that always stands out is visiting during Happy Halloween Weekends with my sister in 2017. I have so many great memories at the park over the years, but this one has always felt extra special because it brought together so many things we both love in one place — Halloween, family time, roller coasters, and the fun atmosphere that Holiday World does so well.

It was just the two of us that day, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like a visit we were going to remember for a long time. Holiday World already has a special place in my heart, but getting to experience it during one of my favorite times of year made it even more memorable.

Walking into Holiday World during Happy Halloween Weekends always felt extra special.

One of the things I remember most from that visit was just how much there was to see and do. Everywhere we looked, there were beautiful fall decorations, pumpkins, mums, and Halloween details that made the park feel festive and full of life. It was the kind of atmosphere that immediately makes you slow down a little, take everything in, and appreciate all the effort that goes into making the event feel so special.
The fall decorations around the park made the whole visit feel even more festive.

What made that day stand out even more was all the seasonal fun we got to experience together. We went through the family-friendly haunted houses, enjoyed Halloween treats, watched the Halloween-themed live shows, and spent time exploring all the themed decorations throughout the park. As huge Halloween fans, my sister and I loved every bit of it. It really felt like the perfect mix of spooky fun and family-friendly entertainment.

Another big highlight was going through the corn maze together. What started as a fun part of that visit ended up turning into a tradition that my sister and I still enjoy every year. I think that is one reason this memory still means so much to me now. It was not just a fun day at the park — it was the beginning of something that became part of our own family tradition.

The corn maze quickly became one of our favorite Happy Halloween Weekends traditions.

Of course, no Holiday World visit would feel complete without riding some of our favorite coasters. My sister and I made sure to ride Thunderbird and The Voyage, which made the day even better. There was something about mixing the thrills of the rides with the fun of the Halloween event that made the whole visit feel complete. We were getting to enjoy some of our favorite attractions while also taking in everything that made the event unique.

What I remember most clearly is just how much we loved everything we saw and did that day. There was not one single moment that made it special — it was the whole experience. It was the decorations, the haunted attractions, the corn maze, the live entertainment, the roller coasters, and most of all, getting to share it all with my sister. We both love Halloween, and we both love Holiday World, so getting to experience both together made that visit unforgettable.

A day full of Halloween fun, roller coasters, and great memories together.

Looking back, I think that is why this memory has stayed with me for so long. It was the first time my sister and I got to experience Happy Halloween Weekends together, and it showed me once again how Holiday World has a way of bringing families together. It is more than just rides and attractions. It is a place where people can connect, laugh, create traditions, and make memories that stay with them long after the day is over.

That visit also reminded me how much the events at Holiday World can add to the experience. The park was not just decorated for Halloween — it felt alive with the season. From the spooky touches to the family activities, it created an environment where a brother and sister could spend the day doing things they both genuinely loved. That kind of memory is hard to top.

The Halloween details around the park helped make the entire event feel immersive and memorable.

When I think about my favorite Holiday World memory, this day always rises right to the top. It was joyful, exciting, and full of the kind of family connection that makes a place feel more meaningful over time. It gave my sister and me a tradition we still enjoy, and it reminded me that some of the best park memories are not just about the rides — they are about who you are sharing the day with.

That is one of the reasons Holiday World continues to mean so much to me. It has given me amazing memories over the years, and this one with my sister during Happy Halloween Weekends will always be one of my favorites.

Why Flying Fox Could Be a Big Moment for Kentucky Kingdom

Flying Fox brings a whole new energy to the front of Kentucky Kingdom. Kentucky Kingdom is getting ready to open Flying Fox on May 28, and in my opinion, this new coaster feels like more than just another ride addition. It feels like a statement about where the park is headed next. Flying Fox may not be the biggest or most extreme coaster in the park, but that is exactly why it matters. It adds something Kentucky Kingdom truly needed: another family-friendly coaster that still looks fun, exciting, and full of energy. As someone who has followed this project from concept art to construction and now to the finished ride, it has been really exciting to watch it all come together. One of the things I like most about Flying Fox is how compact the layout is while still looking full of movement. The ride twists through the area with lots of turns, close interactions with the pathways, and multiple moments where guests can watch the coaster flying overhead. That alone makes it feel live...

Kentucky Kingdom Opening Weekend 2026: A Rough Start, But Signs of a Stronger Season Ahead

Even with the chaos of Opening Day, it still felt good to be back at Kentucky Kingdom. When I first arrived at Kentucky Kingdom on Opening Day, I was honestly shocked by how many people were lined up at the front gate. There were multiple long lines waiting to get inside, and it was immediately clear that attendance was stronger than it had been for 2025’s opening. Even before stepping fully into the park, you could feel the excitement in the crowd. Everyone seemed to be taking in the new entrance plaza updates, the moon rock fountain, the bright green Flying Fox track crossing over pathways, and the general buzz of a new season beginning. Opening Day crowds were noticeably larger than last year, and the excitement at the front gate was easy to feel. Once I got inside, the park had a strong energy. The atmosphere felt upbeat, the music was pumping throughout the midway, and guests seemed genuinely happy to be back. At the same time, it did not take long to notice that operations...

Holiday World Platinum Passholder Preview Day 2026 Recap

Walking through the gates for Platinum Passholder Preview Day felt like the perfect start to the 2026 season. Holiday World’s Platinum Passholder Preview Day was an amazing way to kick off the 2026 season. From the moment I walked up to the entrance gates, I could not wait any longer to get inside. As soon as I entered the park, picked up my Platinum Season Pass magnet, and took in the entrance plaza, I felt like I was in paradise. All the stress I had been carrying around in my mind disappeared. For a few hours, it was all relaxation, fun, and the simple joy of being back at one of my favorite places. Even though it was raining off and on when I arrived, it did not take away from the day at all. If anything, it made finally being back feel even more special. After taking a few photos and videos around the entrance plaza, I headed into St. Nick’s Trading Company to see all of the new merchandise for Holiday World’s 80th Anniversary season, and that was one of the first big highl...
