Kentucky Kingdom 2024 Season Pass Preview Night

The 2024 Kentucky Kingdom Season has begun!!! The 2024 Season is going to have lots of memories and fun for the entire Family to enjoy! May 10th kicked off the Season with an exclusive Season Passholder only event that lasted into the night, so yes we got our first official night rides of the Season. This event gave Season Passholders the chance to explore the Park one day before the public Park opening on May 11th. The event was held from 5pm - 10pm, so it was a very laid back kind of atmosphere with low attendance, and less stress, which was really awesome because it meant shorter waits for the Coasters and other attractions.

Having a lower amount of people roaming around the Park also allows you to scope the Park out for all the off season changes that went on. There were quite a few off season changes in fact, a few I have pictured below: (these are just a few that I noticed, there are a lots still to discover)

I did also notice lots of survey markings in the Swamp Water Jacks area all the way back to Storm Chaser. This could be planning for what is going to be announced in the Fall, but you can never guess this early. It could be for ANYTHING! I am super excited to see what Herschend does have in store for the Parks future. During my journey around the Park I did also come across an old friend...an old trashcan with an original Kentucky Kingdom logo printed on it. Gosh that brought back so many past memories, I love this version of the Parks logo so much! What can I say I grew up visiting Kentucky Kingdom, so old school items and souvenirs hold a special place in my heart.

As I mentioned earlier, the crowds were very light so I was able to get rides on many of my favorites. I was even able to snap some awesome photos of the rides and Coasters, which is always something I love doing while visiting the Park. Below are some of my photos I was able to take. For the most part the event did go very well, there were a few bumps in the road with the Staff being new, but that is always something that I never let bring me down. I truly do believe that this Season Crew is really going to be amazing! I encountered lots of very energetic enthusiastic Crew members while riding the rides and coasters, so once they get warmed up they will ROCK this Season!

As the day went on the sun started to set over the Park and night began to fall, which only meant one thing...it's finally time for some night rides and strolls around the Park with all the awesome different colored lights shining all over the Park! I had only been at the Park at night the past few seasons during the Pumpkins event, so I did notice something familiar...the lights that were on around the Park were the lights from the Pumpkins event. I have to say it was still an awesome site to see though. All the colors did kind of blend well so no big deal. I was actually happy to see that the Park still had these lights up, because most rides in the Park do not have light packages anymore so the new led style spot lights help give life to the rides at night that don't have lights anymore.

As the event slowly started to come to an end and I hopped on and off Lighting Run 5 times in a row, it was finally time to call it a night. By the way Lightning Run is an amazing coaster to ride at night for sure along side Storm Chaser! I am very excited to return to the Park soon to see if I can spot anything that I may have missed during this visit, and am also really looking forward to the Festivals that the Park has lined up for the 2024 Season. Below is a glimpse at the Festivals that are coming to the Park this Season. If you have not grabbed your 2024 Season Pass you still have time before price go up in June. Why Flying Fox Could Be a Big Moment for Kentucky Kingdom

Flying Fox brings a whole new energy to the front of Kentucky Kingdom. Kentucky Kingdom is getting ready to open Flying Fox on May 28, and in my opinion, this new coaster feels like more than just another ride addition. It feels like a statement about where the park is headed next. Flying Fox may not be the biggest or most extreme coaster in the park, but that is exactly why it matters. It adds something Kentucky Kingdom truly needed: another family-friendly coaster that still looks fun, exciting, and full of energy. As someone who has followed this project from concept art to construction and now to the finished ride, it has been really exciting to watch it all come together. One of the things I like most about Flying Fox is how compact the layout is while still looking full of movement. The ride twists through the area with lots of turns, close interactions with the pathways, and multiple moments where guests can watch the coaster flying overhead. That alone makes it feel live...

Kentucky Kingdom Opening Weekend 2026: A Rough Start, But Signs of a Stronger Season Ahead

Even with the chaos of Opening Day, it still felt good to be back at Kentucky Kingdom. When I first arrived at Kentucky Kingdom on Opening Day, I was honestly shocked by how many people were lined up at the front gate. There were multiple long lines waiting to get inside, and it was immediately clear that attendance was stronger than it had been for 2025’s opening. Even before stepping fully into the park, you could feel the excitement in the crowd. Everyone seemed to be taking in the new entrance plaza updates, the moon rock fountain, the bright green Flying Fox track crossing over pathways, and the general buzz of a new season beginning. Opening Day crowds were noticeably larger than last year, and the excitement at the front gate was easy to feel. Once I got inside, the park had a strong energy. The atmosphere felt upbeat, the music was pumping throughout the midway, and guests seemed genuinely happy to be back. At the same time, it did not take long to notice that operations...

Holiday World Platinum Passholder Preview Day 2026 Recap

Walking through the gates for Platinum Passholder Preview Day felt like the perfect start to the 2026 season. Holiday World’s Platinum Passholder Preview Day was an amazing way to kick off the 2026 season. From the moment I walked up to the entrance gates, I could not wait any longer to get inside. As soon as I entered the park, picked up my Platinum Season Pass magnet, and took in the entrance plaza, I felt like I was in paradise. All the stress I had been carrying around in my mind disappeared. For a few hours, it was all relaxation, fun, and the simple joy of being back at one of my favorite places. Even though it was raining off and on when I arrived, it did not take away from the day at all. If anything, it made finally being back feel even more special. After taking a few photos and videos around the entrance plaza, I headed into St. Nick’s Trading Company to see all of the new merchandise for Holiday World’s 80th Anniversary season, and that was one of the first big highl...
