Holiday World 2024 Platinum Season Passholder Preview Day

The 2024 Season at Holiday World kicked off on May 4th for all Platinum Season Passholders, and gosh was it an amazing day! Yes it was a little muggy out and you for sure could not skip out on the sunscreen that day, which btw Holiday World offers Free Sunscreen as well throughout the Parks, but besides that the day couldn't have been better!

The day began by waiting near The Raven's exit ramp for the Rope Drop, which I had never been able to experience this before at Holiday World, so that was exciting! Right at 10am the Security Guard dropped the rope and everyone was off like the Horses racing in the Kentucky Derby that evening. Where might you ask was everyone in such a hurry to get to....Well Good Gravy! of course!!! My review of Good Gravy! will be posted soon on the Blog, please stay tuned.

I will say the addition of Good Gravy! and Stuffing Springs really makes the Thanksgiving section of the Park a place that you could stay in all day and just enjoy everything going on around you. Being in Stuffing Springs you see so many of the other Thanksgiving attractions, I love that!

Being a Platinum Season Passholder is the best Season Pass a Guest could have at Holiday World. The Platinum Season Pass day always brings in light crowds so you know what that means, little to no wait on the Rollercoasters, and flat rides as well. Getting to visit the Park on a less crowded day makes the experience so much better in my opinion.

You also get to explore the Park and enjoy all the scenery, and enjoy the sounds of all the Guests enjoying the Coasters and rides throughout the dry Park, Splashin' Safari is not open during Platinum Season Pass preview day, but Frightful Falls is!

Most of my day involved riding the Coasters over and over and the other half was well just taking in Good Gravy! and Stuffing Springs to be honest. The Park did add in a new Coffee Shop called The Perky Turkey where the Dip n Dots used to be across from Plymouth Rock Cafe. I have yet to try any of the new beverages, but do plan to do so on my next visit!

Some other small little changes that I noticed as I walked around were some new banner designs for the Halloween & 4th of July sections of the Park. I really love these new designs!

After a few more rides on The Voyage and Thunderbird I decided to head over to The Legend and The raven and call it a day, since it was such a humid day, it wore me out to be honest! I did decide to purchase a All Season Photo Pass and have included some of my ride photos that I have collected thus far this Season below.

The entire Staff at the Park was so Friendly as well on Platinum Season Passholder Day! Thank you for another awesome Memory Making Day at the Park Holiday World! Oh, so one thing that Holiday World does is give all the Platinum Passholders a special gift, a collectors item you could say, this years was a 2024 Platinum Passholder Magnet with the Good Gravy! gravy boat spilling out Gravy! This is why I love Holiday World, they always take care of their guests every year and it means the world to me!

Why Flying Fox Could Be a Big Moment for Kentucky Kingdom

Flying Fox brings a whole new energy to the front of Kentucky Kingdom. Kentucky Kingdom is getting ready to open Flying Fox on May 28, and in my opinion, this new coaster feels like more than just another ride addition. It feels like a statement about where the park is headed next. Flying Fox may not be the biggest or most extreme coaster in the park, but that is exactly why it matters. It adds something Kentucky Kingdom truly needed: another family-friendly coaster that still looks fun, exciting, and full of energy. As someone who has followed this project from concept art to construction and now to the finished ride, it has been really exciting to watch it all come together. One of the things I like most about Flying Fox is how compact the layout is while still looking full of movement. The ride twists through the area with lots of turns, close interactions with the pathways, and multiple moments where guests can watch the coaster flying overhead. That alone makes it feel live...

Kentucky Kingdom Opening Weekend 2026: A Rough Start, But Signs of a Stronger Season Ahead

Even with the chaos of Opening Day, it still felt good to be back at Kentucky Kingdom. When I first arrived at Kentucky Kingdom on Opening Day, I was honestly shocked by how many people were lined up at the front gate. There were multiple long lines waiting to get inside, and it was immediately clear that attendance was stronger than it had been for 2025’s opening. Even before stepping fully into the park, you could feel the excitement in the crowd. Everyone seemed to be taking in the new entrance plaza updates, the moon rock fountain, the bright green Flying Fox track crossing over pathways, and the general buzz of a new season beginning. Opening Day crowds were noticeably larger than last year, and the excitement at the front gate was easy to feel. Once I got inside, the park had a strong energy. The atmosphere felt upbeat, the music was pumping throughout the midway, and guests seemed genuinely happy to be back. At the same time, it did not take long to notice that operations...

Holiday World Platinum Passholder Preview Day 2026 Recap

Walking through the gates for Platinum Passholder Preview Day felt like the perfect start to the 2026 season. Holiday World’s Platinum Passholder Preview Day was an amazing way to kick off the 2026 season. From the moment I walked up to the entrance gates, I could not wait any longer to get inside. As soon as I entered the park, picked up my Platinum Season Pass magnet, and took in the entrance plaza, I felt like I was in paradise. All the stress I had been carrying around in my mind disappeared. For a few hours, it was all relaxation, fun, and the simple joy of being back at one of my favorite places. Even though it was raining off and on when I arrived, it did not take away from the day at all. If anything, it made finally being back feel even more special. After taking a few photos and videos around the entrance plaza, I headed into St. Nick’s Trading Company to see all of the new merchandise for Holiday World’s 80th Anniversary season, and that was one of the first big highl...
