Kentucky Kingdom Bringing More Festivals to the 2024 Season


The 2024 Season at Kentucky Kingdom is about to get AWESOME! Kentucky Kingdom has announced they will be hosting three new festivals at the Park for in the 2024 Season. Two festivals will be returning as well, and one gets a major addition! I am super excited to see what all this years festivals has in store. I was not able to visit the Summer Blast event last season, but it did look like an awesome experience, and a first at Kentucky Kingdom, having fireworks at the Park!

Petal Palooza  Coming May 25 - June 30

Experience color in motion as we celebrate the transition from spring to summertime in Louisville. Kentucky Kingdom's Petal Palooza festival commemorates the boldness of color with a larger-than-life Mosaiculture and SIX live flower walls! Capture picture-perfect moments by our colorful painted mural and hear rich sounds as live music fills the air. Plus, participate in our interactive, special events throughout June, including a Silent Disco party and Color Run 5K race. Celebrate the fun of the seasons with all your senses!

Events during Petal Palooza:

MAY 25 - 31 Live Mural Installation
Location: Hurricane Bay, Near The Lockers

Guests can see an artist paint a colorful, flower-themed mural at select times on May 25 - 31. This is a part of Petal Palooza, and the piece will be up through June. Capture a picture with a color-popping background!

Silent Disco | Stay late during the NEW Petal Palooza for a Silent Disco on June 8, where guests can wear wireless headphones while dancing and singing along to music with a fun group of people in a summertime celebration by the Big Surf Wave Pool!

Color Run | On June 29, kick off your Saturday with a 5K fun run through Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay while being splashed with a vibrant display of colorful powders! Season Passholder and General Admission pricing available.

Red, White, and Bluegrass Bash  Coming July 4 - 6

Soar, splash, and kick off the Fourth of July weekend with a BOOM! Kentucky Kingdom’s Red, White, and Bluegrass Bash commemorates Independence Day weekend with daily fireworks and unique food through July 6th. Hear rich sounds by day as live music fills the air and play by night with extended operating hours. Join us for the ultimate birthday bash at Kentucky Kingdom as America turns 248!

Summer Blast  Coming July 6 - 27

Soar, splash & end your summer nights with a boom! Spectacular fireworks are coming during the return of Summer Blast, our exciting fireworks show every Saturday in July!

  • Fireworks will launch up to 350 feet in the air and can be seen from anywhere in the park! Saturdays Only 10:00 PM - 10:15 PM
  • Each show will be 15-minutes long and choreographed with a music track.

Experience the one and only Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks, boasting displays of vivid color, blended sound, intricate coordination and topped with a breathtaking finale. This show will keep you on your toes, not knowing what will come next. A Rozzi display is separated from the competition by the design style and artistic presence, resulting in a fireworks show like no other.

Pumpkins at Kentucky Kingdom  Returning Fall 2024 

Now Open Thursdays - Sundays in October!

Don't miss out on the annual family friendly fall festival, Pumpkins at Kentucky Kingdom! More than 1,000 bright orange pumpkins will appear all over the park, inviting you to play all day on world-class rides and explore fall-themed fun like games, street performances, and colorful new characters. Stay after sundown to watch the park transform into a whimsical wonderland of glow featuring larger-than-life pumpkin sculptures!

Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom  Select Days November 29 - January 4

The 2024 season will be Longer, Brighter, and Jollier than EVER, as we proudly introduce the all-new Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom!

Get ready to immerse yourself in the magic of the season among dazzling displays of over ONE MILLION lights, Christmas trees and holiday decor as far as the eye can see. Create family memories, including meeting the most famous reindeer of all and a unique opportunity to stop by Santa's House. Take your experience to new heights, racing down a 175-foot long snow tubing hill covered in real snow and look forward to SO much more!

Holiday World: A Place Full of Family Memories

Holiday World has meant a lot to me for many years, but I would say it truly became special to me back in 2006 when my mom first introduced me to the park. We visited in the spring that year, and after that first trip, we kept going back again and again throughout the season. What started as a visit quickly turned into something much bigger. It became a place filled with memories, excitement, and quality time with family. My very first season visiting Holiday World in 2006 I had already been a theme park and roller coaster fan before that, but Holiday World felt different from anything I had experienced before. There was just something special about it. From the rides to the atmosphere, it immediately stood out to me as a place that was not only exciting, but also welcoming and full of heart. Kentucky Kingdom - Floral Frenzy 5K 2024

  On June 29th, 2024 Kentucky Kingdom hosted participants during their first-ever Floral Frenzy 5K Run during their New Petal Palooza Event in Louisville, KY. This "Color Run" was so much fun! This one-of-a-kind event allowed participants to run throughout the Park as well as even outside the Park while being doused with colorful powders at different locations during he route. Below shows a map of the routes that participants could take. One being only 1.5 Miles (Kid's Fun Run), and the other being 3.1 Miles (Floral Frenzy 5K).  A decent amount of participants showed up to take on this new 5K that Kentucky Kingdom hosted. This was a great event for people of all ages as well. Everyone who participated seemed to really enjoy this special event. Participants were given light refreshments before and after the race, as well as a Floral Frenzy 5K T-Shirt and Completion Medal.
