Kentucky Flyer is Clear for Flight!!

 

Theme Park Report has Officially Earned Our Wings by Taking Flight on the all New Kentucky Flyer Roller Coaster at Kentucky Kingdom! Kentucky Flyer is Kentucky Kingdom's 6th Roller Coaster and is a Great new addition to the Parks Coaster line up. Kentucky Kingdom is also Celebrating it's 30th Anniversary this Season and with the addition of the New Kentucky Flyer Family Coaster, who could ask for a better Anniversary gift?!?

The Kentucky Flyer is a very unique Family Roller Coaster crafted by the amazing Gravity Group. Gravity Group really has a hit on their hands with this new coaster! The coaster boasts 12 airtime elements on 1,288 feet of track. It reaches speeds of 35 mph, has 54-degree banked turns and is 47 feet tall, with a 40-inch height requirement (the average height of a 4-year-old), which will allow younger riders to enjoy it.

Kentucky Kingdom - Floral Frenzy 5K 2024

  On June 29th, 2024 Kentucky Kingdom hosted participants during their first-ever Floral Frenzy 5K Run during their New Petal Palooza Event in Louisville, KY. This "Color Run" was so much fun! This one-of-a-kind event allowed participants to run throughout the Park as well as even outside the Park while being doused with colorful powders at different locations during he route. Below shows a map of the routes that participants could take. One being only 1.5 Miles (Kid's Fun Run), and the other being 3.1 Miles (Floral Frenzy 5K).  A decent amount of participants showed up to take on this new 5K that Kentucky Kingdom hosted. This was a great event for people of all ages as well. Everyone who participated seemed to really enjoy this special event. Kings Island to Expand Award-Winning Kids’ Area with New Family Boomerang Coaster and Immersive Camp

Kentucky Kingdom Skyline Changing - T3 Being Dismantled Before 2024 Season Opening

The view for guests driving past Kentucky Kingdom on Interstate 264 will look very different this Season! Why you may ask??? Work has finally begun to dismantle the T3 Suspended Roller Coaster! T3 closed at the end of the 2022 Season and has stood untouched until just recently. As seen in the photos below, a crew started to dismantle the Coaster on April 1st, 2024.  (Photo Credit: @Coaster Chit Chat on Facebook) T3(T2) opened on April 8th, 1995. It is so crazy how close the dates are from being opened to the public to being torn down. T3 will be missed by some and some are just happy to see it go, which will allow the Herschend Group to bring more new and exciting things to the Park in the near future!  Below are some photos from Facebook Users that have bared witness to the Coaster being dismantled and placed in a field near the Park.
